RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Director of athletics
Marianne Reilly and Manhattan athletics has announced a multi-year contract extension for women's basketball head coach
Heather Vulin.
"I consider being the head women's basketball coach at Manhattan College as one of my greatest blessings," said Vulin. "I am so blessed to be surrounded by our amazing student-athletes, my incredible staff, and work for one of the hardest working administrations in the country. I am grateful for them believing in our vision and to have this extension to continue to bring this program to new heights through 2028."
"We are excited to announce that coach Vulin will continue to lead our women's basketball program at Manhattan," said Reilly. "She has created a culture of engagement, winning, and accountability which has made a tremendous impact on our program since her arrival. A wonderful representative of the college, Heather has built the program into a MAAC contender, and we look forward to what the future holds for Manhattan women's basketball."
Over Vulin's six seasons in Riverdale, the Jaspers have won 80 games, including 21 in 2021-22. Manhattan finished 21-11 this past season, marking the program's third straight winning season, and competed for the MAAC Championship but came up short to Fairfield. This year's championship game was the first MAAC title game appearance for the Jaspers since 2003.
Vulin added, "I still remember the excitement I had walking into Draddy for my first day of work six years ago. It has only multiplied because of my belief in our ability to win championships here! I love my job and the people I work with side by side daily to build a championship-caliber program. My family and I are so thankful to be a part of such a special place as Manhattan College and for this opportunity."
Leading the Jaspers, Vulin has coached 14 All-MAAC performers and three major award winners;
Emily LaPointe (Rookie of the Year, 2019-20),
Courtney Warley (Defensive Player of the Year, 2018-19),
Gabby Cajou, Sixth Player of the Year, 2017-18). This past season, the Jaspers had four earn All-MAAC honors, with
Dee Dee Davis and
Courtney Warley becoming the first two Jaspers to be named First Team All-MAAC in the same season.
