RIVERDALE, NY— Manhattan head coach John Gallagher has dipped into the Division I transfer portal market with the addition of graduate guard Terrance Jones, it was announced on Friday afternoon by the program. Jones, who's 6-3, is a native of Trenton, New Jersey and played four seasons at Norfolk State.

"Terrance brings us much needed depth at the guard position, can play multiple positions and defend at a high level, and is always thinking team first," said Gallagher. "He will be a great addition to our program this year and we are excited for him to get started."

This past season, Jones averaged 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists on a Norfolk State team that won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and faced off with the national champion Florida Gators in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

After being limited to eight games in 2023-24 due to injury, Jones started in eight games for the Spartans this past season and averaged 19.2 minutes–per-game. Jones produced eight double-digit scoring games last season. That included twice scoring a career-high 20 points two games apart in conference play — at Morgan State and vs. South Carolina State. Additionally, Jones excelled at the free throw line, shooting 88.9 percent (48-54) last season. For his career, Jones has converted 83.6 percent (92-110) of his attempts from the charity stripe, keeping in line with a Jaspers' team that ranked first in the MAAC and 32nd nationally in free throw percentage last season (76.8 percent).

Jones brings a defensive presence, having recorded multiple steals in eight games last season, highlighted by a season-high three takeaways at Hampton.

At Norfolk State, Jones was part of two NCAA Tournament teams (2022, 2025) and a 2024 squad that won the CIT Championship. Moreover, the Spartans won 93 games across his four-year career and never finished with less than 22 wins in a season.

Prior to attending Norfolk State, Jones played at Eastern Wyoming College during the COVID-impacted 2020-21 season. He was named NJCAA All-Region 9 Division I South Team after averaging 16.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals-per-game while shooting 41 percent from three.

Jones will use his final year of eligibility next season and joins Erik Oliver-Bush and Anthony Isaac among the Jaspers' newest additions.
