RAMAPO, NY — Back at Clover Stadium for the home regular-season finale, Manhattan staved off a late Marist comeback attempt to win the rubber match, 8-7. Counting Sunday's victory on Mother's Day, the Jaspers have now won six of their last games.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Manhattan jumped on Marist early, scoring three runs in the second inning thanks to a two-run blast off the bat of Tyler Galletti. The Jaspers added their first run on a throwing error following a fly out from Trevor Hansen that allowed Hunter Sute to score from second.

In the top of the fourth inning, with two outs and runners on first and third, the Red Foxes scored their first run on a double-steal attempt that saw Lewis Rodriguez score.

For the third straight game, Ryan Lordier knocked in at least a run, this time coming through with a two-run single in the fifth that extended the Jaspers lead to 5-1.

The Jaspers continued to thrive with runners in scoring position. Aidan Taclas and Jeremy Sosa each came through with RBI singles in the seventh that stretched the lead to 7-2.

The Jaspers added their final tally in the eighth on a solo shot from Galletti for his second long ball of the day.
STATS AND NOTES

Tyler Galletti is fresh off his best two-game stretch as a Jasper. The graduate student went a 5-6 combined between Sunday's game and game two on Saturday.

Galletti drove in three runs on Sunday thanks to hitting his first two home runs of the season.

Ryan Lordier stayed hot at the dish, recording two RBIs on Sunday after driving in a pair in game two on Saturday.

Lordier has recorded at least one hit in 20 of his last 25 games.

Joseph Duffield went seven innings on Sunday while giving only two runs. Duffield earned the win.

Nate Ryhlick earned the save by coming on for the last out of Sunday's win.

Currently in eighth place in the MAAC standings, Manhattan is a game behind Marist and a game and a half ahead of Niagara.
