GARDEN CITY, NY — Manhattan Baseball (19-27, 11-14 MAAC) awoke in the second game of its doubleheader match-up with the Marist Red Foxes (20-24, 12-12 MAAC). The Jaspers took game two, 9-4, after suffering a 4-0 defeat in game one at William J. Bonomo Memorial Field.
GAME ONE (MANHATTAN 0 | MARIST 4)

Despite Braedon Romero pitching well on the mound, the Jaspers offense was silent in game one despite having its chances.

Marist tacked on two runs in the sixth to break the seal. An RBI groundout for Jason Claiborn and an RBI single for AJ Brotz gave the Red Foxes a 2-0 lead.

Marist pushed their third run across in the seventh on an RBI groundout for Brady Steinert.

Steinert came through again in the ninth with an RBI single before the Jaspers wasted a one-out walk by Aidan Taclas in the bottom of the final frame.
GAME TWO (MANHATTAN 9 | MARIST 4)

The visitors plated the first run in the top of the first on an RBI fielder's choice for Chris Diaz.

The Jaspers would knot the score at one in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from Ryan Lordier that plated Tyler Galletti from third.

The Jaspers' big bomb came in the seventh on a two-out, full-count offering to Trevor Hansen which he swatted out for a three-run shot.

The blast gave Manhattan its first lead of the day at 4-1.

Marist would tie the game at four in the eighth, first on a two-run double from Zach Donahue, and later on a passed ball that let Donahue score from third with lead-off hitter Noel Rivera at the plate.

Manhattan left no doubt in the bottom of the eighth, scoring 5 runs versus two Marist pitchers.

Lordier came through with an RBI single for the go-ahead run and Taclas' infield single made it 6-4 one batter later.

The Jaspers scored its final three runs of the 5-run eighth on bases loaded walks to Trevor Hansen and Dylan Mayer and a bases loaded hit-by-pitch of Andreaus Lewis.
STATS AND NOTES

Hansen finished game two with four RBIs, highlighted by his three-run home run. Hansen is second among Jaspers in home runs (7) behind Taclas' eight.

Manhattan drew 11 walks in game two.

Ryan Lordier finished his day 3-6 with two RBIs — including driving in the go-ahead run in the eighth.

Chris Fidanza earned the win in game two, pitching three innings and allowing only two runs.

Fidanza came on in relief of game two starter Brad Grasser, who went six innings and allowed only one run.

Despite taking the loss in game one, Braedon Romero looked sharp in his seven-inning outing during which he tallied six strikeouts. He was charged for two runs.

Currently in eighth place, the Jaspers trail the Red Foxes by 1.5 games in the standings.
