Track Wraps Up Competition at Mets

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Manhattan track & field team wrapped up competition at the Mets Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held at Icahn Stadium today in New York City.
 
"Our group came together today, competing at the Mets which is a competitive regional meet," said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field, Kerri Inman. "It was another opportunity for us to get better."
 
Kylie Conroy (4:51.94) and Julia Hendricks (4:53.24 placed sixth and seventh in the 1,500 meters, respectively, this afternoon.
 
Lauren Chappell hurdled her way to a time of 16.02 in the 100-meter hurdles. She also recorded a height of 1.43 meters (4-8.25) in the high jump.
 
The 4x100-meter relay team of Martina Martinez Thea Bakken Makayla Dorvil Isabella Sing placed fourth in the event as they rounded the track in a time of 50.62.
 
Alexandra Caraher won the women's hammer throw with a mark of 49.91 meters (163-9) on her fourth attempt. Bekah Bouton's throw of 38.27 meters (125-7) on her second attempt earned her a seventh-place showing. Caraher also had a toss of 10.75 meters (35-3.25) in the shot put. In the discus, Caraher placed third with a mark of 34.22 meters (112-3) and Bouton's mark of 33.40 meters (109-7) on her third attempt was good enough for sixth place.
 
Isabella Sing recorded a mark of 5.11 meters (16-9.25) in the long jump for second place.
 
Ben Domingo registered a time of 16.86 in the 110-meter hurdles finals.
 
Shane McCorry raced to a time of 50.75 in the 400 meters and 22.59 in the 200 meters.
 
The 4x400-meter relay team of Jaiden Bradshaw, Shane McCorry, Christopher Purchia, and Brian Oduor placed sixth with a time of 3:25.80.
 
Myron Corpuz won the hammer throw with a launch of 51.47 meters (168-10) on his third attempt. Joseph Pelio's mark of 49.58 meters (162-8) on his second attempt earned him a fifth-place finish. Corpuz followed it up with a mark of 13.54 meters (44-5) to place second in the shot put. Peter Athanailos was right behind him in third place with a mark of 13.51 meters (44-4) which he tallied on his third attempt of the day. In the discus throw, Athanailos was third with a mark of 42.56 meters (139-8), while Corpuz recorded a distance of 38.10 meters (125-0).
 
Lewis Forster had a mark of 56.91 meters (186-9) in the javelin for second place. Jackson Haft cleared a height of 3.95 meters (12-11.50) in the pole vault for second place. Ivan Lytovchenko captured first place in the high jump with a clearance of 2.00 meters (6-6.75).
 
Alex Biello placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.46 meters (21-2.25), while Christopher Purchia was fifth with a bound of 6.10 meters (20-0.25).
