RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- A new coach always has a chance to shake things up and change the direction of a program, and that is precisely what happened in the 2023 baseball season under Dave Miller in his first season.

The process of rewriting the record books began this year and will only continue in the following years.

The Jaspers won a postseason game for the first time since 2019, including the team's first run-rule victory in the postseason in school history.

Miller led the Jaspers to 13 conference wins, the most in a single season for the Green and White since the 2019 season.

Discipline at the plate was the best the program had ever seen, drawing 321 walks this season. Leading the charge was leadoff man Frankie Marinelli, awarded first on balls 47 times, while Logan Pfannenbecker drew 43 walks of his own.

On the opposite end, the team also showed the ability to leave the park, doing so 43 times this season, fourth-most in program history. Daniel Perez and Pete Durocher paced the team with eight long balls this season, while Trevor Santos belted seven.

The pitching staff also got in the action. Will Hesslink rang up 94 batters on strikes this season, which is the fourth-most in team history in a single season. His season high was 12 against Saint Peter's to open MAAC play.

As a staff, 416 opposing batters returned to their dugouts on strikes, the second most in the storied of the Jasper program.

Freshman Garret Garbinski stepped up in a big way out of the bullpen this year, recording six saves during the 2023 campaign, the fourth-most in school history.
