Manhattan Adds Eight Student-Athletes For Upcoming Season

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan head coach Jorden Scott has announced the addition of eight student-athletes for next season.

"We have worked very hard as a staff to find the right people and players to fit the needs of the team," said Scott. "We are very happy with the talent we have coming in and are very proud to have these young men as part of our Jasper Family. We look forward to the season ahead and the future with this exciting group of players."

Here is a breakdown of the eight future Manhattan student-athletes:

Noah Amissah (London, England / Orleans Park) | Travel Team: Brentford FC Academy

Coach Scott on Amissah:
"We lacked goals last year and we believe that Noah is one of the new players that can help turn that around this fall with his power, game knowledge and ability in front of goal. He is a very impressive athlete and has all the tools needed to be an impact player from day one with his stature and movement. I know he is driven to help us achieve our goals this season."

Deljan Bregasi (Boglidsco (Genoa), Italy) | Previous School: St. Thomas University

Coach Scott on Bregasi:
"Deljan is an impressive individual and goalkeeper that we believe can lead our backline and the entire team on and off the field. His experience of playing in a Serie A Academy and three years of college means he is game-ready and will be able to help in areas that we have struggled previously. He will also be a great role model for our younger student-athletes."

Tristan Doran (Jupiter, FL / Benjamin) | Travel Team: FC Florida

Coach Scott on Doran:
"Tristan comes to us from a top program and is someone we believe can develop his game further as he competes with some of our senior players for a starting role. He has a great commitment to player development and his strength, power and understanding on the field will allow him to progress as a Division I athlete in the coming months and years. We are delighted to have him in our squad."

Moritz Eisold (New City, NY / Don Bosco Prep (NJ)) | Travel Team: World Class FC

Coach Scott on Eisold:
"Moritz is coming from an elite club in New York and is someone we have been watching for some time. We are delighted he has chosen our school and we are excited to get to work on him in the net within a Division 1 environment.  He has shown a desire and commitment to developing his game and we look forward to watching him grow in the coming years."

Lorenzo Froehle (Anchorage, AK / Bartlett) | Travel Team: Cook Inlet FC

Coach Scott on Froehle:
"Lorenzo is a unique player and person due to his cultural background in playing in Alaska where very few get to play Division I soccer. He has emerged after years of quality coaching and dedication to become a shining light in his state. He has great size and athleticism and under our guidance we believe he has the potential to become a great leader in the years to come."

Christoph Gums (Greifswald, Germany / Sportgymnasium Leipzig)

Coach Scott on Gums:
"We are very excited to have Christoph in our program for the next four years. With his background with one of the best academies in Europe and within the German National team we expect him to start right away and impact our program from the middle of the field. His technical skill, vision and game understanding will immediately elevate the level of the team."

Allen Martinez (West Palm Beach, FL / South Kent School (CT)) | Travel Team: FC Florida

Coach Scott on Martinez:

"Allen has been with us all spring after helping South Kent Prep to a National Title under Owen Finberg in the Fall of 2015. He was a captain and leader and has already shown glimpses of that in his short time with us. A dynamic competitor, he will play a key role in the rhythm of our game through the central midfield and has developed a great understanding of how we play during the spring."

Leonard Sohn (Richmond, Hill, Ontario / Bill Crothers Secondary) | Travel Team:

Coach Scott on Sohn:
"Leonard is going to be another success story out of the Toronto area where he has spent time working with one of the top MLS Academies in the country. His experience of playing at the highest level with TFC PDL and the TFC II reserve team along with his technical expertise ensures he will be ready to contribute immediately."

Manhattan will open the 2016 season on Friday, August 26 at Temple with opening kick slated for 4:00 pm.
