MAHWAH, NJ – The Manhattan College men's outdoor track & field team overcame rainy, windy conditions to put forth several solid efforts at the Ramapo College Roadrunner Invitational. The Jaspers sent a small contingent to the meet, consisting of mainly sprinters and field event athletes.
Manhattan's quartet of Anthony Hall (Mountainville, NY), Fabian Mueller (Amtzell, Germany), Kyle Watkins (Coram, NY) and Nesta Littlejohn (Albany, NY) qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a 42.58-second clocking. That time was good enough for second overall. Stefan Hoeller (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) took third in the 110 meter hurdles (15.30), and Justin Alleyne (New Rochelle, NY) took fourth in the 400 meters (50.10).
In the discus, Ire Bozovicar (Potoki, Slovenia) led a 1-3 finish for the Jaspers with a winning effort of 48.71 meters (159 feet, 10 inches). Gustave Menocal (Bronx, NY) also achieved the IC4A-qualifying standard with his third-place mark of 47.61 m (156'2). Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ), who took third in the shot put (14.50 m, 47'7) on Friday night, added a ninth-place finish in the discus (40.36 m, 132'5) on Saturday. Matthew Pluhowski (East Patchogue, NY), meanwhile, cleared 4.15 m (13'7¼) to place seventh in the pole vault.
Next weekend, the Jaspers will take part in the annual Metropolitan Outdoor Championships. The two-day meet begins at 1 p.m. on Friday from Rutgers University.
