Manhattan Women?s Lacrosse to Host Youth Tournament

Women's Lacrosse Picked 6th in MAAC

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's lacrosse team was picked to finish sixth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as voted on by the league coaches.

Two-time defending conference champion Canisius was predicted to repeat, earning 44 total points. The Golden Griffins Morgan Leonard was also picked as the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year.

Fairfield took 42 points in the preseason voting to be named second, while Marist (33 votes) was predicted to place third. Iona (29 votes), Siena (26 votes), Manhattan (13 votes), and Niagara (9 votes) rounded out the poll.

Returning three players who were named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team, Christina Fiorinelli, Domenica O'Brey and Donna Jo DiNorcia, the Jaspers will begin their season on Saturday when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to take on Rutgers.
