Women's Lacrosse Falls To Siena 13-10 Despite Several Comebacks

Gutenberger Named To All-MAAC Women's Lacrosse 2nd Team; 9 Players Named MAAC All-Academic

Manhattan College's Chrissy Gutenberger was named to the All-MAAC Women's Lacrosse Second Team, while nine Lady Jaspers were named to the 2010 MAAC Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, the conference announced today.

Manhattan's offensive leader, Gutenberger led the Lady Jaspers in goals this season with 41 and in total points with 49. She was third in the MAAC in goals per game with 2.93 and fourth in the MAAC in points per game at 3.50. She also stood third in the conference in shots per game at 6.21.

Meanwhile, the nine Lady Jaspers named to the 2010 MAAC Women's Lacrosse All Academic Team were among 64 MAAC players who received this honor. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.  Marist College and Niagara University both led all schools with 11 student-athletes making the team.  Canisius College had 10 athletes.  Nine student athletes earned spots on the team from Fairfield University, Iona College and Manhattan College.  Siena College rounded out the team with five.
