Riverdale, N.Y. -- Grabbing its fourth dual meet win in six starts for the young program, the Manhattan College mens's swim team topped Pace University Friday 102 to 73 in a dual meet held at the Riverdale Country School. Jasper freshman Robert Varieur led the Jaspers with three first place finishes.
Varieur picked up firsts in the 50 free (in 22.96) and 500 free (in 5:16.84) events and also anchored the winning 200 free relay team, which finished in 1:35.46. Also on that winning team were Cullen Balcanoff, James Hoepker and Mickey Ruddy.
Other top performances for Manhattan on the evening included: a win by Ruddy in the 1000 free in 11:42.97, a first place finish by Hoepker in the 100 butterfly in 59:40; and a first by Matt Kaftanski in the 100 backstroke in 58.45
