Riverdale, N.Y. -- The Manhattan College men's cross country team grabbed fourth place and the women's team seventh place at the 2009 MAAC  Cross Country Championships held this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.  Zack Price was the men's team top finisher, while Maria Jangsten was the top performer for the women.

The Iona College men and women were victorious at the championships.. Iona's Ryan Sheridan and Anna Holm-Jorgensen were the men's and women's individual winners, respectively.

For the Manhattan men, Price, a junior, grabbed 17th place overall, covering the 8K course in 27:14.80.  Also scoring for Manhattan were:  Kevin D'Emic, who placed 27th in 27:37; senior Milos Vuckovic, who took 29th in 27:42; freshman Billy Wilkens (32nd in 27:46) and Pat Carroll (42nd in 28:06).

For the Manhattan women, Jangsten, a sophomore, covered the 8K course in 25:01 to place 28th overall.  Also scoring for the Lady Jaspers were:  freshman Laura Grotjohann, who finished 45th in 25:35; senior Mary Consiglio (49th in 25:41); junior Jelena Rankovic (80th in 27:05); and sophomore Emmy Koskinen (86th in 27:23).
