New Haven, Conn. (March 29, 2008) -- Manhattan College sophomore Seid Mujanovic took first place in the hammer at the SCSU Owl Invitational with a 61.00 mark that qualified him for both the NCAA Outdoor Regionals and the IC4A Outdoor Championships.  Meanwhile, for the second week in a row, Manhattan freshman Siri Fagerlund took first in the 100m hurdles, this time in 14.56s.

In qualifying for the NCAA Regionals Mujanovic becomes the third Manhattan Jasper in two weeks to qualify for the outdoor regionals; last week, fellow hammer thrower Paul Peulich and triple jumper Dexter Jules also qualified for the NCAA Regional meet.

At the SCSU meet Saturday at the Jess Dow facility at Southern Connecticut State University the Manhattan College women finished third overall, while the men's team finished fifth overall.

In additon to the fine performances from Mujanovic and Fagerland, pacing the Jasper squad at SCSU were high jumpers Jason Grant on the men's side and Paige McConney on the women's side.  Grant, a junior, took first in the men's event with a 1.95m mark, while McConney, also a junior, took the women's event with a mark of 1.70m, which qualified her for the ECAC Outdoor Championships.  Grant also third in the triple jump with a 12.95m mark.
