Princess Anne, Md. (October 1, 2005)--Sophomore outside hitter Ashley Watson followed up her first double-double performance of the season with 17 kills and nine digs, as Manhattan Volleyball finished the weekend at 3-0 with a three-game sweep of Coppin State University (30-23, 30-14, 30-28) in its final match at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Invitational on Saturday.

Watson, who posted 11 kills and 15 digs earlier today in a victory over Delaware State, led the Lady Jaspers' attack with a match-high .481 hitting percentage. Despite Watson falling one dig short of her second straight double-double, the Lady Jaspers did have a player record double-digit kills and digs for the second straight contest, as senior outside hitter Megan O'Dorisio put down 12 kills to go along with 12 digs in the victory. The double-double was O'Dorisio's fifth over the last six matches. Also, with double-digit kills for Manhattan was senior middle hitter Maggie Pfeifer with 13.

After trailing by five points early on in game one, the Manhattan attack kicked into high gear to lead the Lady Jaspers to their second three-game sweep of the season. The victory ran Manhattan's match winning streak to three straight. The win also holds significance in the fact that it moves the Lady Jaspers' overall win total to seven, which eclipses last year's mark of six.

Leading the way for Coppin State was Brittany Arvin with a match-best 19 kills.

The Lady Jaspers try to continue their momentum over into next week when they play their first match at Draddy in over a month on Wednesday night against St. Francis College. Gametime is 7:00 p.m.
