Riverdale, NY (February 20, 2004)-Eight women on the Manhattan women's swimming team earned spots on the 2004 Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, it was announced today by MAAC officials.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must have completed at least two semesters, must be a starter or a significant reserve, and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
The eight members are senior
Molly Hogan (Torrington, CT), senior
Marguerite Mohan (Brooklyn, NY), junior
Vanessa Conway (Worthington, OH), sophomore
Natalie Johnston (Holbrook, NY), sophomore
Bethany Karbowski (Seekonk, MA), sophomore
Heather Kennedy (Baldwin, NY), sophomore
Maureen Stransky (Oakdale, NY), and sophomore Margaret
Lauren Sullivan (Oakdale, NY).
The Lady Jaspers earned 10 consecutive wins for the first time in the programs history this season. Manhattan is currently competing at the MAAC Swimming Championships in Baltimore, MD. The Championship started yesterday and will end tomorrow, Saturday, February 21.
