Oneonta, NY (September 20, 2003)- Junior Forward Edwin Ruiz and freshman forward Jovan Yamagishi had one goal and one assist apiece to lead the 19th-ranked Hartwick College men's soccer team to a 6-1 victory over visiting Manhattan College on Saturday at Elmore Field.

The Hawks (5-1) took a 4-0 lead at halftime and added two goals in the second half. Hartwick had a 21-6 advantage in shots and a 10-1 edge on corner kicks.

The lone Jasper goal came in the 65th minute. Sophomore Joseph Pumo put a shot from 25 yards out over the head of the Hartwick goalkeeper for his first tally of the season.

Senior Antonio Treglia made five saves in net for Manhattan. Josh Wagenaar and Scott Carman each made one save for Hartwick.

The Jaspers get back in action on Sunday, September 21, when they take on Adelphi at 4:00 p.m.
